Both the MS and HS bands will be performing on Thursday, March 1 at East Lansing HS. The Middle School band performs at 10 AM and the HS Symphonic Band will perform at 11:15 that morning. We will be departing on busses from the school at 8 AM and will be returning before school gets out in the afternoon. More specific information to come this week. Please let Mrs. McNabb know if you would like to chaperone for this traveling performance.
Due to our snow day yesterday, we have had to reschedule the band concert for later in the week. As the gyms were already previously booked for each evening we have decided to make the concert an assembly for the whole school to attend on Friday, December 16 at 10 AM in the HS Gym. Parents are more than welcome to attend as well and for those that are unable to make the concert, we will be videotaping the event and can share it out later in the day.

Band Camp will be taking place the week of Monday, August 8 through Friday, August 12, from 8AM to 4PM each day. There will be 3 drumline-only rehearsals (a sort of pre-camp for our HS drummers) coming up in July: Monday, July 11 6:30-8:30 PM @DHS Band Room Monday, July 18 6:30-8:30 PM @DHS Band Room Monday, July 25 6:30-8:30 PM @DHS Band Room This will be an opportunity for the students to start playing as a line and to learn some basic marching techniques specific to drummers before combining with the whole band at band camp in August. Band Camp will be taking place during the second week of August this year: Monday, August 8-Friday, August 12, 2016. Camp will take place at DHS from 8 AM- 4 PM each day that week, with a final performance at 3:30 PM for the parents that Friday afternoon. If if you have any questions, feel free to contact me via email but I wanted to make sure to get the word out ASAP in order to avoid any conflicts! We have a really exciting show planned for the fall and I know we will have a fantastic season full of Friday Night lights, a combined bands halftime show, and the Grand Ledge Marching Invitational. The Middle School Band received a Division II rating overall and got their first Division I rating on record for sight-reading. The High School Band received a mixture of II's and III's and were scored with a Division III rating overall. Both groups should be extremely proud of their performances. We are looking forward to taking the constructive feedback from all of the judges and using it to improve our sound and musicality for the future. Way to go, Aggies! It's Festival week!
Both the 7/8th Grade Band and the High School Symphonic Band will be performing at MSBOA Band Festival this Friday, March 11th at Okemos High School. This is something both bands have worked extremely hard for over the past couple of months and it should be an excellent experience for the students. Both groups will be taking buses from the school right at 8 AM Friday morning and will be returning at around 1 PM that afternoon. The Middle School Band will perform at 9:25 AM. The High School Symphonic Band will perform at 11:20 AM. Students (and chaperones) will need to arrive to school (the band room) early, no later than 7:45 AM, in order for us to depart on time. Students must arrive wearing their concert uniform attire: white dressy shirt, black pants/skirt, black shoes and socks as there will be no time to change (no jeans, sneakers, or graphic tees please!) *As we will be missing the school lunch times, students should bring $$ to purchase concessions at Okemos (or bring a bag lunch). -Mrs. McNabb Just a reminder that Monday night is our Holiday Band Concert! This concert will include the 6th grade band, the 7/8th grade band and the High School Symphonic Band and is a required summative grade for them for band class.
Students will need to report by 6:45 pm to the band room for warm-ups. Concert attire is black pants (or skirts), black shoes & socks and a white dress shirt. The students can also wear a festive tie (or headband or scarf for the girls) to celebrate the season. The concert will start at 7:15 pm in the High School Gymnasium.
